During the winter break, Sandeep Bhaiya, owner of Fuel Zone, posted a photo on Facebook, standing arm in arm with Anuj Bhaiya, who used to run the Nescaf\u00e9 counter, in the space formerly occupied by the latter\u2019s outlet. The photograph left several students perplexed about these new developments on campus. It was soon after that the news of the cancellation of Nescafe\u2019s contract reached the student body\u2014 to many this meant no more morning cappuccinos, hot chocolates or the famed chicken kulchas. And more importantly, this meant no Anuj Bhaiyya.<\/p>\n

Having been at Ashoka since its inception, he had become an integral part of the campus and it would have been the loss of a friendly face for most of the Ashoka community. However, the latest news suggests that he may not be gone after all\u2026<\/p>\n

Sandeep Bhaiya confirmed that he has rented the space previously occupied by Nescafe and has hired Anuj Bhaiya to supervise that area. After the administration ended Nescafe\u2019s contract, Anuj had some difficulty finding employment\u200a\u2014\u200ahe had been working at Ashoka for quite some time now, and finding a whole new job would have been a very harrowing experience for him. However, Sandeep came to the rescue, and with the help of Deep Vakil of the Student Government, he took up the issue with the administration.<\/p>\n

Members of the administration were very helpful, renting out the adjacent spot to Sandeep soon after a meeting on 21st January, 2019. While talking about the issue, Sandeep applauded the administration for their immediate support and understanding, especially Mr. Ashish Pathak, and the registrar, Mr. Sachin Sharma, who readily helped him to get the empty spot. Sandeep also confirmed that apart from keeping all the food items that were sold earlier from Nescafe, they will now also include fruit salads and similar items on the menu.
